KATE BREHM directs and designs visual theater with puppets, physical acting, and scenic dramaturgy. Her New York based company, imnotlost, has produced original theater and interactive events since 2003. She is an accomplished international puppeteer and movement director certified to teach the Margolis Method of Physical Theater. Her research into the performing body of the puppeteer and visual storytelling for the stage are taught as studio  puppetry classes. She has taught full semester courses at Harvard University, and workshops and lectures at Yale, the University of Connecticut, Exeter College, Royal Holloway University, Central School of Speech and Drama, Cave Art Space, and Puppeteers of America. She is published in the Routledge Companion to Puppetry and Material Performance.

She is a close associate of Basil Twist and has toured the world performing and developing his works of puppet theater since 2005. She has received various awards including a NYSCA Individual Artist Award, Henson Foundation Workshop Grant, Puffin Foundation Ltd. Award, and multiple residencies with organizations such as Here Arts Center, Chashama, Galapagos Art Space, St Anne’s Warehouse, Mabou Mines, and the Center at Westpark.
