Puppets and Social Justice

How puppetry can be used to explore topics related to Social Justice Issues and Identity.

Deborah Velto has been an educator for the last 20 years. She received her MSeD at Sage Graduate School in Troy, NY and her undergraduate degree at Siena College. She is passionate about teaching students of all ages to enjoy writing, and finding creative ways to express themselves through language. Currently she is enjoying teaching middle school Social Studies. Velto has always been a puppet enthusiast, and appreciates the magic of using puppetry in and out of the classroom. Deborah currently lives in southern Vermont with her husband, two children and three dogs. Her company, River Branch Academics, provides enrichment programming to students throughout the area, and hosts a variety of online learning experiences.
