Release Schedule

Welcome to the Release Schedule! You can look here for what was shown on the VPC stage by day and time.  But just because it's already happened on the schedule doesn't mean you missed it! Most of the great content that will be presented at Virtual Puppet Con: Northeast Edition 2021 is available for streaming!
Except for the Puppet Slam and Potpourri/Open Mic, most of the other content is now available for streaming.
This streaming is only available for a limited time, though. The content is only available until midnight of November 18. The Lobby is open 24 hours a day, and the store will be open until December 1!

New! Rating system (Look on the left side of event listings):
laughing Smiley Face = appropriate for Youth and Families
No icon = suitable for General Audiences (Parents, watch first to determine appropriateness for your child)
Exlamation point in a triangle = Content only appropriate for Adults (Parental discretion suggested for those aged 16-18)

Like a Fish in Water

"Like a fish in water" is an animated short film with shadow puppets made independently by a team of two women that won the audience award at its premiere at the international film festival "Todos Somos Diferentes" in Chile. In this short film we get closer to the inner world of a girl who feels free as a mermaid when she is in the water.

Gone Fishing

This is a story of a fisherman who has lived his entire life as a fisherman in the Kenyan coast of Mombasa, but in those years a lot has changed, but recently he started blaming his rich neighbour who he accused of damaging the area and destroying the coral reefs and mangroves to build a big house next to the ocean, but he also forgets he has also contributed to the pollution of the same ocean where he goes fishing every day, at the end he loses the only thing that matters to him, his boat due to bad weather. The show is done by One Puppeteers and it's a table puppetry with a rod puppet.

Waves of Generations

By Bonnie Kim and Sean-Joseph Choo: Hawaii, USA

Two performing artists of different backgrounds in Hawaii explore their Korean heritage through personal stories and experiences with their grandparents. This is a multidisciplinary collaboration by Sean-Joseph Choo on Oahu Island and Bonnie Kim on Hawaii Island which integrates theater, puppetry, original music, dance and movements inspired by traditional Korean dances.

A talk with the editor of the Puppetry Journal, Steve Abrams, and the editior of Puppetry International, Andrew Periale. Learn a bit about the history of these publications, their role in Puppeteers of America and UNIMA-USA, the process to write and submit an article, and whats new for these publications.
